Non-Releasing Adjustable Floating Tap Holder |
| |
|
|
Like the RoyEL Drill Holder, this non-releasing RoyEL Tap
Holder requires no bushings, no collets, no extra jaws. Also important:
need for cutting off tool shanks is completely eliminated. RoyEL Tap
Holder jaws firmly grip the tool along the full length of the jaws. The
RoyEL unit is the only tap holder with concentric self-alignment and
adjustability for all taps within the capacity of the machine for which it
is designed. Adaptable for use as a floating reamer holder |

Releasing Adjustable Floating Tap Holder |
| |
|
|
This tool holder has been carefully designed for long wear
and easy maintenance. The main body and the sleeve are held together by
the shaft which incorporates a shearing pin held by a socket set screw. If
the shear pin should break under severe strain, only the main body and
sleeve separate. Since the pawls and drive pins are locked in the main
body, there are no small parts to get lost in shavings or the bed of the
machine.
At time of shipment, this tap holder is set for right hand taps. The NO.
OORRTH and No. ORRTH have one pawl, while the No. 2RRTH and No. 4RRTH have
two. The pawls extend from the side of the main body or pawl retainer and
point toward “R”. For left hand taps, turn the pawls 180 degrees so
that they point toward “L”.
